Mount Sinai
Jabal al-Lawz is a mountain in northwest Saudi Arabia theorized to be the real Mount Sinai. It is known for it's charred blackened peak, with proximity to the Red Sea crossing site and the Split Rock of Moses, providing overwhelming Biblical evidence surrounding it.
Split Rock of Moses
ย The Split Rock of Horeb is a massive stone found near the Jabal al-Lawz mountain (Mount Sinai) and is theorized to be the rock Moses struck from which water flowed out for the thirsty and tired Israelite people. This split rock is located in the valley of Rephidim, where the Israelites encamped and is a marvelous wonder to see in real life.
Red Sea Crossing
The Nuweiba Crossing is believed to be where the Israelites crossed from Egypt into Saudi Arabia after God parted the water for Moses and His people, one of the greatest miracles recorded in the Bible. With its proximity to the Real Mount Sinai in Saudi Arabia, the Sea of Aqaba is a very plausible site.
Ancient Serabit el-Khadim
In the Northwest of Sinaiโs sea coast, you will see very compelling Asiatic (Hebrew) stela features of nobles and soldiers who have the tell-tale mushroom hairstyles of the early Israelites. Located at a turquoise mine site, Serabit el-Khadim, owned by the Pharoah of Josephโs time, the context suggests that Asiatics were involved in mining expeditions.
Land of Midian & Jethro
The land of Midian is located in Saudi Arabia, where Moses fled after killing an Egyptian. He was taken in by Jethro, a Midianite high priest. He gave Moses his daughter, Zipporah, in marriage. Within Al-Bad', a small town in north-west Saudi Arabia, lies the famous Caves of Jethro, where he resided.
Historic Port City of Yanbu
Yanbu is a part of the Saudi Hejaz, located on the beautiful Red Sea. A great starting/ending point for exploration of the depth of Saudi! An adventure through this historic port city would not be complete without a visit to the home of Lawrence of Arabia! We will stop at the famous Hejaz Railway stations, made famous in the epic story.
Oasis of "Tema"
Tayma is a northwestern Arabian destination located between Medina and Tabuk in the area of ancient Edom. It is famous for the Oasis of Tayma and is mentioned several times in the Bible (referenced as "Tema" by Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Job).
Oasis of Elim
The Israelites second stop after crossing the Red Sea was Elim, a place described as an oasis with 70 palm trees and 12 wells in the book of Exodus. Today, a similar oasis exists not far from the proposed Red Sea crossing sites. This lush spot in the middle of the stark desert matches up perfectly to the Biblical description.

Living Passages is committed to the safety of our travelers.
To do this we strive to follow all guidelines and requests of both our hosts and the government.
There has been a history of Western travelers who have gone to these historic sites without proper approvals. In doing so they endanger the safety of those traveling with them by illegally visiting areas where signs have been posted and fences are up. The Saudi government has protected certain sites and we respect their authority.
Petra in Jordan is a Perfect Add-on to the Exodus of Arabia
Petra is a fascinating relic of biblical history, characterized by its worn staircases, numerous empty tombs, and altars embellished with ancient depictions of kings, including Nabonidus from 556 BC.
