TOUR OVERVIEW:

Take a European Reformation tour to Germany in 2020 with two leading scholars in Christian reformation history: Dr. Erwin Lutzer of the Moody Church and Pastor Steve DeWitt of Bethel Church in Indiana!

Space on our Oberammergau post tour is limited, book now to secure your space!

This Christian German Reformation tour combined with the once-every-10-years Oberammergau performance has been made even better by having two top Bible teachers with us! Dr. Erwin Lutzer, Pastor Emeritus of The Moody Church and Pastor Steve Dewitt of Bethel Church of Indiana will add to the spiritual depth and the historical importance of the Reformation.

This itinerary is particularly special because of the optional tour extension we will be offering to the town of Oberammergau. Famous all over the world for its nearly 400-year history of Passion Plays, the year 2020 will be a highlight in the Bavarian community as the entire town of Oberammergau celebrates by once again taking part in a Passion Play.

These two Pastors have traveled together to the Reformation sites and they have hand-selected the itinerary especially for you. The tour price starts at $4,599 per person and includes most meals, private bus, all entrance fees, lovely hotels, tips, and taxes. We have an optional air program out of Chicago that you can also utilize, or you can make your own way to Berlin and home from Munich. See the section on Airport Transportation-More Information in the registration details.
We expect the Oberammergau package to sell out, so please act quickly!

OBERAMMERGAU HISTORY

Oberammergau history – In the 17th century the thirty years’ war took place (1618-1648) in central Europe and was one of history’s most devastating. As a result of the war, poverty and disease was widespread and thousands died as a result of the plague.  In the small village of Oberammergau alone there were 80 deaths. During this time of suffering the citizens of Oberammergau made a sacred pledge that every 10 years they would perform a “Play of the Suffering, Death and Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ” if God would protect them from the plague. Legend has it that after the vow was made, there was not even one further case of Bubonic Plague in the village and those town members that already were afflicted recovered.
