Saudi Arabia & Mount Sinai to Jordan
The foundational narrative of the Exodus, as outlined in the second book of the Torah of Yahweh, contains some of the most vital and momentous accounts in the Torah. The quest to uncover the archaeological and geological evidence of the Yisraelites’ liberation from Egypt, Moses’ revelation at Mount Sinai, and the nation of Yisrael’s ensuing desert wanderings has captured the hearts and minds of some of history’s most brilliant scholars and explorers. Cartographers, archaeologists, scientists, adventurers, historians, and disciples of all backgrounds have sought out the genuine locations depicted in ancient manuscripts. Finally, with the advent of state-of-the-art technology and the ever-increasing political stability of the region, the northwest corner of Arabia has begun to divulge its buried secrets. This tour has been designed to include time at the end for further investigations, in which you may partake! You will be a first-hand witness to the expansion and revealing of the region’s antiquities, which have remained behind the veil until this time.
Join author Todd D. Bennett on an intensive and rich exploration to see the newest discoveries as they pertain to the Biblical texts, while you assist with any new research that needs to be completed. The tour cost (not including airfare) is $5,499 per person (sharing a double room). We can match roommates, or you may also pay the additional supplement for a single room.
ADVENTURE EXCURSION IN ARABIA
WITH OPTIONAL OVERNIGHTS AT JABAL AL-LAWZ (MOUNT SINAI!)
Expenses for this excursion are tied to the cost of camp set-up, as opposed to the number of nights spent there by individuals. ***Note: to be able to spend Shavuot at Sinai, you must spend at least one night camping, but you may spend up to two nights camping.
Hiking & Climbing: You may climb to the blackened top, OR you may climb to Elijah’s Cave (You cannot do both the blackened top and Elijah’s Cave on the same day. Hike to the 70 Elders’ Plateau. You will spend an overnight camping under the summit plateau of Jabal al-Lawz. The journey includes camping for two nights, but you have the option not to camp at all, or you may camp only one of the two nights.
If you are looking to take a more adventurous route into the wilderness, your Saudi Arabia Adventure package offers an alternative path designed for tour participants who can enjoy the amazing location of the camp and its facilities. This option highlights Moses’ time in the land of Midian and the Exodus crossing sites, and includes exploration of the real Mount Sinai by hiking and camping along the same route that Moses may have taken. You will be partaking in classic fellowship and learning at the main sites throughout the tour, but with extra activities added in, as desired! If you enjoy an activity level that is different from your spouse’s or travel companion’s, you have the option to select different activities. You may choose the adventure that is perfect for you!
While the trip includes two nights of camping at Mount Sinai, with all meals, a shower onsite, and a mobile, regular restroom facility, you can return to the Vista hotel for an overnight, either one of the nights or both nights. The additional cost is $375 per person, per night, at the hotel.
We will also have a separate day for climbing Mount Sinai (May 16), and the most notable climbs can include the following:
- Climb to Elijah’s Cave (5-6 hours)
- Climb and boulder to the 70 Elders’ Plateau (5-7 hours)
- Climb to the blackened peak of Jabal al-Lawz (6-9 hours)
