TOUR OVERVIEW:
Mount Sinai, Saudi Arabia and Moses’ Petra & Jordan
EMBARK ON AN ANCIENT JOURNEY
Join Dr. Abidan Shah of Clearview Church on this Exodus journey to the Wilderness of Sinai and the Red Sea in Northwest Saudi Arabia, where you will spend valuable time at the real Mount Sinai. Saudi Arabia opened for limited tourism by permit only in 2019, and the number of visitors is still very small. Those who visit will see the compelling richness of the Exodus route of Saudi Arabia and Kadesh Barnea winding in and out of Petra—the rose-red, hidden city of the Nabataeans, named after Naboth, one of Abraham’s descendants. This is where the Hebrews spent 38 of their 40 years of “wandering in the wilderness”. In Arabia, know that you are one of the few early entrants to see this special, hidden place. You will spend time visiting the archaeological aspects of Midian—the Land of Jethro and his son-in-law, Moses. You’ll see the massive, Split Rock of Horeb, where Moses struck the boulder and God miraculously provided water from within the rock. You’ll personally survey Jabal al-Lawz (Mount Sinai), with its charred and blackened summit, ascertained to be the original Mount Sinai upon which Yahweh descended in fire. You’ll discover for yourself why Jewish and Bedouin traditions have continued for centuries to refer to this peak as “The Mountain of Moses.” You’ll also visit the stone altar under Elijah’s Cave, the Golden Calf Altar, the small oasis of Elim, where the miracle of the quail occurred, the Nuweiba Crossing site where Yahweh split the Red Sea, where the cemetery exists which contains the remains of the 3,000 killed by the Levites at Aaron’s Altar. This is also the site of Moses’ Altar, where the first covenant was given, and so much more! You will see—with awe and wonder!—the inscriptions that match the Biblical narrative. You have the opportunity to see these inscriptions and these altars before they become a part of the major tourism hub being constructed right now by NEOM and the Royal Family of Saudi Arabia.
During your time at the site of Jabal al-Lawz, you have the very rare and unique opportunity to “glamp” for one night in a camp which is supplied with virtually every need and is complete with mobile bathrooms, full tents with carpets, high-end cots, bedding, sumptuous meals and a raging fire to enjoy both morning and evening. You will have private fellowship and teaching together as you prepare for the day’s journey—deep into the Torah and God’s promises and then on to the Hebrews. Your itinerary includes 4-star hotels throughout your stay, all meals and beverages, and pretty much everything that you will need. Your hotel in Saudi Arabia is set beautifully on the Red Sea, with amazing views of Egypt and Israel.
The trip includes: all meals, all food and beverages, camping one night at the base of Mount Sinai in a deluxe “glamping” comprised of all the comforts, all prepaid tips, all accommodations, visas for Jordan and the possibility of an optional, round-trip airfare from Raleigh, departure taxes, Bedouin guides to accompany you up to Mount Sinai, fully-rigged Landcruisers and Saudi drivers. What an amazing adventure he has planned for you! You will begin exploring Moab in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, where Moses saw into the Promised Land and where Joshua led the command of the conquest. Afterward, you will be driven to the closest major city, which is Tabuk, in NW Saudi Arabia, where you will board your flight to return home. The total trip cost for this expedition includes airfare, tips, Jordanian visas, and all meals and starts at just $4,629 (for double occupancy). Your deposit is $750 per person. Trip-cancellation insurance is highly recommended and offers several options. We can also offer you “Cancel-for-Any-Reason” insurance. Items not included are: the Saudi visa (Living Passages will send you the link; the fee is $70) and any items of a personal nature.
“And the Lord said unto Moses, ‘Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves: They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt” Exodus 32:7-8
Camping at the Base of the Blackened-top of Mount Sinai!

This is your once-in-a-lifetime chance to overnight and fellowship where God met with Moses and handed down His Covenant!
Your expedition includes the glamping time (but you can return to a hotel, if you prefer). This overnight will highlight Moses’ time in the land of Midian and in the extraordinary presence of the real Mount Sinai. While overnighting here, you will have the extra time to hike the region and camp the same route that Moses may have taken. You do not need to climb the mountain in order to enjoy this overnight.
Partake in classic fellowship and learning at the main sites throughout the tour, but with this amazing activity included. If you enjoy an activity level that is different from your spouse’s or travel companion’s, you have the option to select different activities. Some stay at the camp, some return to a hotel, some climb Mount Sinai. You may choose the adventure that is perfect for you! Our time at Sinai includes special meals, and should you wish to climb, it also includes one specialized climbing guide for 3-5 climbers (per guide).
