Ryan Mauro | Doubting Thomas Research Foundation

Professor Ryan Mauro - Headshot

"Ryan Mauro is more than a premiere security analyst. Ryan is also a friend with a real passion to see Jebel Lawz preserved and appreciated by other believers throughout the world. Being one of the few adventurous souls to have ventured there these past thirty or so years, Ryan is the ideal guide to the land of Midian.”

-Author Joel Richardson

Ryan Mauro, a prominent international security analyst seen frequently on FOX News Channel and other media outlets, is one of only a handful of researchers to successfully visit Mount Sinai and the other Moses-related sites in Saudi Arabia before the country began allowing tourism.

His documentary film, Finding the Mountain of Moses: The Real Mount Sinai in Saudi Arabia, brought global attention to the topic when it was released in late 2018. Radio host Glenn Beck described the film as a “gamechanger for mankind,” causing it to go viral.

The film now has over 8 million views in 42 languages and has aired repeatedly on Newsmax TV. Media outlets connected to the Iranian regime, the Houthis, and Muslim Brotherhood condemned the film.

In 2019, he was invited by author Joel Richardson to co-lead a historically-important tour that was the first government-approved tour to Mount Sinai and other Exodus-related sites in Saudi history.

Mauro is also President of the Doubting Thomas Research Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit that is spearheading new research into the historical evidence for the Exodus and other Biblical events.

In addition to his organization’s Biblical archaeology and history work, the Foundation’s Afghan Liberty Project is rescuing and assisting thousands of persecuted Christians, U.S. allies, and activists who were abandoned in Afghanistan and whose lives are threatened by the Taliban, ISIS-K, and other extremists.

He is also currently an adjunct instructor for Liberty and Regent Universities where he teaches homeland security and counter-terrorism.

Mauro has approximately 20 years of professional experience in the realms of international security, intelligence, and counter-extremism, starting when he was first hired as an international security intelligence analyst at the age of 16 years old in 2002.

For approximately 10 years, he worked as a national security analyst for the Clarion Project, where he envisioned, created, and led its Clarion Intelligence Network that is responsible for reporting hundreds of suspected terrorists and extremists. He has discovered terrorist plots by Islamist extremists like ISIS and Al-Qaeda supporters; Alt-Left extremists like Antifa and Alt-Right extremists like white supremacists.

Mauro has made over 2,000 media appearances on media networks both Left and the Right, including frequent appearances on FOX News Channel and Arab television. He’s been widely published and quoted by outlets like The New York Times, Washington Post, and USA Today and his work has been referenced in the House of Representatives and Senate Homeland Security Committee.

He independently advises U.S. government agencies, counter-terrorism personnel, policymakers, congressional offices, and political campaigns for both major parties.

Mauro has a Bachelor Degree in Intelligence Studies, a Master’s degree in Political Science, and a Graduate Certificate in Middle East Studies, all from American Military University. He has an Islamic Studies Certificate from Islamic Online University.
