TOUR OVERVIEW:

Sinai in the Sanctuary Tour
– SAUDI ARABIA SEGMENT –

with David Putnam, Ph.D.

Discover the captivating Biblical lands of Saudi Arabia, where dramatic desert landscapes, towering mountains, and sacred sites connected to the Exodus tradition create a truly unforgettable experience. For those seeking an even richer journey, continue into Jordan to marvel at Petra, one of the world’s most iconic and awe-inspiring archaeological wonders.

PREPARE FOR THE GREATEST JOURNEY OF ALL TIME!

The Exodus began in Egypt, in the land of Goshen, to Mount Sinai in modern-day Saudi Arabia, through the red land of Jordan, Edom, and Moab, and finally to the Promised Land that we love. This is the journey on which you will embark.

On this segment of the tour, you will visit Arabia, where you will prepare yourself, knowing that you are one of the few early entrants to see this special, hidden place. You will spend time visiting the archaeological aspects of Midian – the Land of Jethro and his son-in-law Moses. You will see the Split Rock of Horeb, where Moses struck the boulder, and God miraculously provided water from within the rock. You will visually survey Jabal al-Lawz (Mount Sinai), with its charred and blackened summit, ascertained to be the original Mount Sinai upon which Yahweh descended in fire. You will discover for yourself why Jewish and Bedouin traditions alike have continued for centuries to refer to this peak as “The Mountain of Moses.” You will also visit the stone altar under Elijah’s Cave, the Altar of the Golden Calf, the small oasis of Elim, where the miracle of the quail took place, the Nuweiba Crossing site where Yahweh split the Red Sea, and so much more!

If you choose to extend your journey, you’ll visit Jordan, the Arabah, and the desert that the Hebrews followed en route to the Jordan River, the world-class, rose-colored city of Petra, with its ancient, mysterious tomb city. You’ll also visit the precious Bethany Beyond the Jordan, where Our Lord and Savior was baptized, to Elijah’s Hill, the mysterious portal area adjacent to the Jordan where Elijah was swept into heaven, then to Mount Nebo and the overlook onto Baal Peor. Finally, you will visit Shittim, where the Tabernacle resided for the last time apart from the Promised Land.

“The chariots of God are twice ten thousand, thousands upon thousands; the Lord is among them; Sinai is now in the sanctuary.” Psalm 68:17

Pam Laurion

Messianic Delaware
Lewes, Delaware

Pamela Laurion a former educator and a judicial consultant for the State of Delaware, has taught Hebrew studies and ancient Hebrew script for the past 15 years to various congregations throughout Delaware. Because she was fascinated with Mount Sinai and the Split Rock archaeological sites in Saudi Arabia, she traveled with Living Passages to visit the sites in 2020 returning to Saudi Arabia several more times. Pam was able to photograph and document new discoveries and teach about the newly discovered inscriptions and artifacts. Recently Pam’s discoveries at these sites were presented to a team at The Museum of the Bible in Washington D.C. and for the past 3 years, she has traveled and presented her experiences nationwide. Pam’s travels throughout the Middle East- Egypt, Jordan, Israel, and Saudi Arabia give her a wide knowledge base for the archaeological sites in the Exodus story. In addition, Pam teaches regularly at her Messianic Fellowship. Pam believes the Saudi Arabian sites for Mount Sinai (Jabal al-Lawz) and the Split Rock at Horeb, are arguably some of the most important archaeological sites in the world.
