Join Joel Richardson and Pastor Wes Martin of Grace Church-St. Louis on a Biblical tour of Israel with an option to include Jordan. Nebo, King’s Highway and then on to the stunning gem of Petra. We will walk amongst ancient tombs that will be future hiding places of the people of The Land. You will see fallen altars and broken stairways to the sky. After Petra, we relax on the Jordanian side of the Dead Sea. Once in Israel, we will visit the site of Shiloh, Shechem, Jerusalem, Galilee, Nazareth, Megiddo and the spectacular Golan with time for teachings and special moments that only Joel and Pastor Wes can deliver.

If taking the Israel only portion of the tour, the dates are April 12 to 18, 2019. • Mount of Olives, Gethsemane, City of David, Pool of Siloam, Hezekiah’s Tunnel
  • We enjoy breakfast this morning and then meet the rest of the group that arrive from Jordan this morning. Together, we have our first amazing sight of Jerusalem! How we love you! We will stand on the Mt. of Olives, where we will have a fantastic view of the walls and ramparts of the Old City. We walk down the stone path where Jesus received shouts of “Hosanna, Hosanna!”. We come into the Garden of Gethsemane for a teaching amongst the ancient olive trees. We then drive through the Kidron—called the Valley of Jehoshaphat—where God will judge the nations of the world (Joel 3:12). Another name for the valley is the Vale of the King; it was once heavily cultivated and the revenues went to the king. After a quick lunch break, we move on to this afternoon’s highlight, the “City of David” to the Gihon spring, and view the knee-high water through Hezekiah’s tunnel, which shunted the water to a pool at a safe distance removed from Assyrian arrows. We then exit the City of David and sit together at the recently-discovered and opened, Pool of Siloam. For those who are not adverse to dark and wet conditions, you may wade through the waters that go through the tunnel. Those of you who prefer dryness and light, you may choose to take the lighted walkway. Later, we arrive at the hotel for dinner and pour ourselves into our Old City home and overnight there.

Leaving Jerusalem around 10 a.m., we then drive to Bethlehem. We will visit a cave which is much like the cave in which Jesus was born. We will be able to hear and see the nativity story and learn of the mysteries of our Savior! We will visit the site of the Shepherd’s Field and have time to savor the topography that is so close to Jerusalem and yet a world away. Learn about the flocks that were kept here for Temple sacrifice. We will have lunch together today in Bethlehem and then return to Jerusalem and visit the Temple Mount, Pools of Bethesda and end the day at the precious Garden Tomb. For those of you wishing to visit the Western Wall, you can go this evening after dinner.

  • Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

The ruins of Mount Gerizim looking over the hills
  • Apr 16
  • Emmaus, Mt. Gerazim, Shiloh, Shechem, Nazareth overlook, Galilee
  • This day begins with travel to West Jerusalem to the tomb of the prophet Samuel and a view of his hometown Ramah, and Gibeon, where the Lord appeared to King Solomon prior to his building of the Temple. We continue westward to a possible location of Emmaus, where Jesus appeared to the two disciples. We walk to a scenic view of the Aijalon Valley, where Joshua prayed for the sun and moon to remain still. The Old Testament city of Shiloh was home for the Tabernacle with the Ark of the Covenant and you may walk to the likely plateau where it was pitched and envision the cloud pillar of God’s presence rising up above the valley walls.
We then drive north, through the Biblical heartland, to Shechem, where we visit the mound of the ancient city, where Joshua renewed the covenant. We stop at nearby Jacob’s Well, site of Jesus’ conversation with a Samaritan woman. Continuing north, we stop at the city known today as Sebastia, which means ‘Augustus’ in Greek. This name comes from the year 27 B.C., when Augustus bestowed the city to Herod the Great. In Sebaste, he celebrated one of his many marriages and saw the birth of two of his sons. We continue north past Ein Harod. It is here, in Judges 7, that it describes Gideon’s actions in thinning-out his army. As you will recall, he brought the men to the spring and sorted them on the basis of how they drank from the water. We cross the Jezreel Valley heading north and climb up the Lower Galilee Hills above Nazareth. We will drive up to the summit of the Mt. Precipici to have a panoramic view of the Jezreel Valley and the connection with Mt. Tabor, Megiddo and Armageddon in the heart of the Jezreel Valley—with Mt. Carmel range in the west. We end the day at the Arbel cliff, which affords a bird’s-eye-view over the Lake of Galilee and the main sites of Jesus’ ministry including most of his healing miracles in that region. We then check into our hotel in a quiet area on the shores of the Galilee. Time permitting, we may enjoy sharing on the beach before dinner.

  • Breakfast, Dinner

The Mount of Beatitudes where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount
  • Apr 17
  • Mt. of Beatitudes, Magdala, Capernaum, Golan, Kunitra
  • Wake this morning and enjoy quiet time before breakfast. Thereafter, we will drive up to the Mt. of Beatitudes. Here we will receive a special teaching and have time to look out onto the sea and our past travels – Mt. Nebo on a clear day. Next, we will visit the newly-discovered synagogue where Jesus taught – Magdala. We will then visit Capernaum, Bethsaida and pass by Chorazin. Stopping for a fish lunch, and then praise and worship on a cruise of the Sea of Galilee. We will have time to see a precious ancient boat, aptly named “the Jesus boat”. We will end our day in the Golan, discovering the bunkers of the Yom Kippur War and having outstanding views into Syria, Mount Hermon and beyond. We will visit the Kunitra overlook and return for a farewell dinner at our lovely hotel on the Sea of Galilee.

I loved it!  It truly was the adventure of a lifetime.  My son had a wonderful experience, too.  Thank you for making the trip kid-friendly!

Loretta & Jacob S.

Everything was wonderful, and first class. Hotels and ship were top of the line. Our Greek Orthodox guide, Sayat was fantastic. So much knowledge and history and enthusiasm! Pastor Lutzer’s teachings were much enjoyed and enlightening. Rebecca is a sweetheart.

I enjoyed this tour so much, that I’d like to do it again sometime, maybe in the Spring season. PS…our group enjoyed each others’ company so much that we are having a reunion party coming up on Monday the 21st!

Monica H.

To see Biblical sites in which Paul ministered as well as see sites of some of the churches of Revelation was an opportunity of a lifetime. The Bible teaching was absolutely outstanding. Of course, being on a sailing ship was delightful as well. I highly recommend a Footsteps of Paul.

1. Through the use of The Word, we trust that once…

Through the use of The Word, we trust that once you have returned from our Christian tours, you will have gained a deeper knowledge of the scriptures and the multiple layers of teaching and truths that are inside each.

Isaiah 55:11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

2. You can be assured an experience like our previous participants…

You can be assured an experience like our previous participants, who have gained an appreciation of how God uses everything for His glory and for the purpose of furthering knowledge and understanding. You will see this as you encounter the geology of the land, the geography where events actually occurred and the archaeology that may (or may not!) still exist. Furthermore, through the remaining people in the land, the practices still in place and demography that have endured.

Colossians 1:20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.

3. Further, our assurance is received that through The Word…

Further, our assurance is received that through The Word; the teachings you will be exposed will solidify the truth which you and your family have been taught by seeing, touching and hearing the scriptures each day. We assert and firmly believe Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

4. You and your family will experience…

You and your family will experience the oneness of the body of Christ during our trip.
