Geographical Cross-Shape: Coincidence or Signature of a Savior?

Cross-shaped lines connect miracles of God

You may have heard that a cross-shaped protein was found in the human cell, but did you know that another significant “cross-shape” has been identified that also points to our Creator? Pastor Tim Remington, leader of a Holy Land tour, loves to direct traveler’s attention to the significant shape that is formed on a map when you connect the dots between many amazing God miracles in Israel and Jordan. You’ll see the Jordan River running North and South between Israel and Jordan and eventually flowing into the Dead Sea. This is the first line. Then, when you look at the where Jerusalem and Mt. Nebo sit on the map, you’ll be able to connect the “crossing” line over the Jordan river, right around the start of the Dead Sea. Now, if you keep this shape in mind, you’ll be amazed as you realized how many miracles happened within this “cross-shaped” area.

1.) For instance, Jericho sits along the Jordan River and we see in Joshua Chapter 6 where the miracle of the walls of Jericho happened. On the seventh day, they fell at the sound of the horn and shouts.
2.) We see in 2 Kings 2 that “Elijah went up by a whirlwind to heaven.” This took place right on the Jordan as we see in verse 6.
3.) Another notable event is when Jesus is baptized in the Jordan River and “a voice out of the heavens said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased.” Mathew 3:17.
4.) Another example we’ll share is in Joshua 3:13 where God said that “the waters of the Jordan will be cut off” as the priests feet rest in the waters of the Jordan. The water is parted as they pass into the Promised Land.

These are just 4 of the amazing miracles done along this line. The “crossing” line across the map from Jerusalem to Mt. Nebo also includes miracle sites.

1.) Sites such as Tall el-Hammam, previously called Sodom and Gomorrah. Here we see in Genesis 19:24 where “the Lord rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah—from the Lord out of the heavens.”
2.) On the end point, you have Mt Nebo. Deuteronomy 34:1 says, “Then Moses climbed Mount Nebo from the plains of Moab to the top of Pisgah, across from Jericho. There the LORD showed him the whole land.” God spoke to Moses that he would see it but not cross over it. Verse 5 then tells us that Moses dies as the Lord said he would.
3.) On the other point of this line is Jerusalem, the setting for countless stories and miracles from the Bible.

Even more interesting is that some believe that where the cross intersects may even be the actual location where Jesus was baptized, Elijah went up to heaven and where the water was parted for Joshua as the priest’s feet hit the water! These are some of the incredible Bible mysteries we will discuss on our Christian Israel tour with Tim Remington in April 2017.
