TOUR OVERVIEW:

EMBARK ON AN ANCIENT JOURNEY

The foundational narrative of the Exodus, as outlined in the second book of the Torah of Yahweh, contains some of the most vital and momentous accounts in all of the Old Testament. The quest to uncover the archaeological and geological evidence of the Israelites’ liberation from Egypt, Moses’ revelation at Mt. Sinai, and the nation of Israel’s ensuing desert wanderings have captured the hearts and minds of some of history’s most brilliant scholars and explorers. Cartographers, archaeologists, scientists, adventurers, historians, and disciples of all backgrounds have sought out the genuine locations depicted in ancient manuscripts. Finally – with the advent of state-of-the-art technology and the ever-increasing political stability of the region – the Northwest corner of Arabia has begun to divulge its buried secrets. This tour has been designed to include time at the end for further investigations – that you will be a part of! Watch the region expand the antiquities that have remained behind the veil.

Join discoverers and archaeological investigators Dr. Tommy Colie and Pam Laurion on an intensive and rich exploration to see the newest discoveries as they pertain to the Biblical texts while assisting in any new research that needs to be done. The trip can be as short or long as you like with it outlined in segments. The tour cost of the primary segment is $3,999 per person (sharing a double room) plus airfare of $899 from Washington, Dulles (you can book your own airfare). The dive or Petra segment is $990 per person (sharing a double room) and/or add the longer segment which includes an exclusive camping trip near the Sukkot stone, a visit to Tayma (Biblical Tema of Nabonidus) at $3,689 per person (sharing a double room). Adding the longer segment that visits the Sukkot Stone and Tayma also adds another $397 to the air costs because flying out of Al Ula is more expensive than Aqaba. This particular expedition extension to the Sukkot Stone, Qamos – and the Masada of Arabia may never have been done before. It is all by private vehicle with very specialized permits and guides. Why This Trip?

By joining this tour, you have an exclusive opportunity to study the land and inspect its evidence with remarkable adventure and educational intrigue! Explore Midian, known by locals to be the homeland of Jethro (the prophet named Shu’ayb), who was Moses’ father-in-law. Examine the Split Rock of Horeb at Jabal Maqla, where Moses struck the boulder and God miraculously provided water from within. Survey the Jabal al-Lawz mountain, with its charred and blackened summit ascertained to be the original Mount Sinai which Yahweh descended upon in fire. Discover for yourself why Jewish and Bedouin traditions have continued for centuries to call this peak “The Mountain of Moses.” Take this afternoon together to research and uncover fresh discoveries in and around the mountain or Midian.

If you have extra time and funds, adding both or one of the optional extensions is a lifetime opportunity. Diving in the Red Sea? Wow, spending the closeout of Sukkot at a stone that heralds its ancient Jewish custom? Either are great opportunities and traveling with these two educators will add to your depth of knowledge and your ability to return home and share the amazing things that Yahweh has done for us to see in our lifetime. Our optional extension to the Sukkot Stone, sleeping near it on the last night of Sukkot will be something to treasure forever.

Both Pam and Tommy have traveled to Saudi Arabia a couple of times each, and during each trip, they find many more exciting archaeological finds that they want to share with fellow believers and explorers, here is your opportunity! On their last trip, they were able to see a 5,000-year-old Egyptian boat carved adjacent to a proto-Hebraic inscription AND they were able to take samples of soils at what may be kilns, stoves, and molds just next to the encampment of the main Exodus site where both Moses Altar and the Altar to the Golden Calf are located.

This trip has a lot of firsts, and you will also have the opportunity for even more discovery with our TWO-night optional camp nights at the foot of Jabal al-Lawz. Camping is not mandatory; we have it set up for those looking for a bit more adventure. We normally only offer camping for 1 night but for this particular group, you can opt to have two fabulous nights of fellowship with Mount Sinai looming overhead. Be a part of history!

Camping at the Base of the Blackened-top of Mount Sinai!

Saudi Climbing

This will be a true adventure in an historic wilderness! Our Saudi Arabia overnight camping is designed for the intrepid adventurer. While camping isn’t necessary to see the site of Mount Sinai, Jabal al-Lawz and Jabal Maqla, you WILL need to camp in order to CLIMB Mount Sinai. The optional camping night includes private tents — with a SHARED, mobile bathroom — mobile kitchen, and a large, Arabian tent set-up for teachings and fellowship — all at the base of Mount Sinai.

Those who have the desire to camp while traveling with someone who’s more into resort-lodging can rest assured that their companion’s comforts will be readily accommodated at the Red Sea Hotel with the rest of the group. The camping add-on is $650 and includes a special breakfast, dinner and a trekking guide to the mountain. Even those who opt not to climb can still enjoy the camping trip!

Camping & Climbing: Overnight at the Jabal al-Law!

  • Hike to Elijah’s Cave.
  • Hike, boulder, and climb to the 70 Elders’ Plateau.
  • Overnight camping under the summit plateau of Jebal al-Lawz.
  • Bouldering and climbing under the blackened peak of Jebal al-Lawz.

Snorkel or Scuba Dive in the Red Sea!

Adventure Snorkeling Red Sea Arabia

In addition to the optional night of camping, the tour will provide opportunities for both scuba and snorkel trips in the Red Sea. (Requests must be approved by the Coast Guard 21 days prior to departure).

Those who choose to partake will be amazed at the underwater sites which can be investigated during our visits.

Pam Laurion

Messianic Delaware
Lewes, Delaware

Pamela Laurion a former educator and a judicial consultant for the State of Delaware, has taught Hebrew studies and ancient Hebrew script for the past 15 years to various congregations throughout Delaware. Because she was fascinated with Mount Sinai and the Split Rock archaeological sites in Saudi Arabia, she traveled with Living Passages to visit the sites in 2020 returning to Saudi Arabia several more times. Pam was able to photograph and document new discoveries and teach about the newly discovered inscriptions and artifacts. Recently Pam’s discoveries at these sites were presented to a team at The Museum of the Bible in Washington D.C. and for the past 3 years, she has traveled and presented her experiences nationwide. Pam’s travels throughout the Middle East- Egypt, Jordan, Israel, and Saudi Arabia give her a wide knowledge base for the archaeological sites in the Exodus story. In addition, Pam teaches regularly at her Messianic Fellowship. Pam believes the Saudi Arabian sites for Mount Sinai (Jabal al-Lawz) and the Split Rock at Horeb, are arguably some of the most important archaeological sites in the world.
