The Insider’s Scoop on Church Group Travel: Chartering Private Ships

Unique Church Group Travel Experiences

Did you know your group can sail through the Mediterranean or Caribbean on a luxury, private ship to the destinations of your choosing? Many churches and families don’t realize that with a group over 14 people, it is possible to charter an ENTIRE sailing vessel complete with experienced staff and luxury accommodations. This kind of out-of-the-box vacation leaves lasting memories for everyone aboard. Many prefer this option over sharing a larger commercial ship because you can do personalized things like snorkel right off the back of the boat, kayak up to the beach, watch a movie under the Mediterranean night sky, enjoy spacious gathering places overlooking the sea and even learn how to sail from knowledge crew members!

Take it from Sunshine and Fred, a couple who recently chartered a sailing ship through Living Passages for their small group.

“All I can say is AMAZING…. FANTASTIC…. UNBELIEVABLE and STUNNING! I cannot find enough words to describe the trip we just had on the Sophia!!! You were right…it was incredible!!! Every family member said it was our best trip yet…and we have had lots and lots of fantastic trips in the past 20 years! I cannot praise the crew enough! The meals were 5 star…breakfast, lunch and dinner!!! The hospitality was above and beyond anything we could have expected or imagined! We felt like Queens and kings! The snorkeling, kayaking, swimming paddle boating and sailing were unbelievable…the waters of the Caribbean are to die for. Oliver had an itinerary all mapped out for us and it was put together with amazing knowledge of the winds, the still places to sleep overnight, the currents, etc., and it was PERFECT! Safety was never an issue and he is a phenomenal Captain! The whole crew is very experienced and all went so smoothly because of their expertise! There was NEVER a time that our wishes were not considered or granted…it was OUR holiday, as Oliver reminded us over and over. We also learned so much about sailing and any question we had was answered. We all came back so relaxed….we all slept amazingly well…some slept better and longer on the boat than at home. That’s pretty impressive…the beds were so comfortable and the boat was super high tech!!! The kids were all able to use their electronics on board and were blessed by that.”
